Title : Our Human Friends - Bernard Werber - Book
Summary :
Are humans intelligent?
Are they dangerous?
Are they edible?
Are they digestible?
Can we breed them?
Can we tame them?
Can we discuss with them as equals?
These are the questions that extraterrestrials may ask us.
To get to the bottom of it, they kidnap two Earthlings, a male and a female, Raoul and Samantha. They place them in a human cage to study them in peace. A "human cage."
They hope to witness a reproduction in captivity.
The problem is, Raoul is a misanthropic scientist and Samantha is a romantic tiger tamer.
It's not easy in this case for our two guinea pigs to understand each other and, a fortiori, to love each other... With this book, written as a philosophical closed-door session, Bernard Werber presents us with a new facet of his art. Once again, he invites us to take a step back, to have a different perspective to understand humanity "differently".
