It wasn't the first time that men had driven God mad. With a closed face, a somber gaze, his hands behind his back, he paced back and forth in his eternity. He told himself that his life would be better without men. He had given them everything. And first of all, existence. He ended up wondering if he had done the right thing in pulling them from nothingness. The temptation came to abandon them to themselves. We would see what would become of them if he suddenly refused to support the universe, if the Earth stopped turning, if the Sun no longer heated and illuminated them, if the laws of physics suddenly collapsed, if time stopped. He called upon the angel Gabriel, who had already, on several occasions, served as his messenger to men. Gabriel, once again, descended to Earth. He settled in with me. And, to try to persuade the Lord, I wrote with him the report which bears his name.
