Title : The Roundup - Jean Reno - DVD
1942. Joseph is eleven years old. And this June morning, he has to go to school, a yellow star sewn on his chest… He receives encouragement from a neighbor who is a second-hand dealer. The mockery of a baker. Between kindness and contempt, Jo, his Jewish friends (like him), and their families learn about life in occupied Paris, on the Butte Montmartre, where they have found refuge. At least, they believe so, until the morning of July 16, 1942, when their fragile happiness is shattered… From the Vélodrome d'Hiver, where 13,000 rounded-up Jews are crammed, to the Beaune-la-Rolande camp, from Vichy to the terrace of the Berghof, "The Roundup" follows the real fates of the victims and the executioners. Of those who orchestrated. Of those who trusted. Of those who fled. Of those who opposed. All the people in the film existed. All events, even the most extreme, took place in the summer of 1942.
