Title : Frankenstein - Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley - Book
Summary :
On an expedition to the North Pole, Robert Walton writes to his sister in which he describes the strange sight he has just witnessed from his ship: the discovery, on an iceberg, of a man lost in his sleigh. Invited to come aboard, Victor Frankenstein says that he has only come here to catch someone—none other than the monstrous creature he once created, which has proven itself to be fearsomely criminal.
Published in 1818, Frankenstein was born two years earlier on the shores of Lake Geneva, one day when Lord Byron suggested to some friends, including the poet Shelley and his wife Mary, that each write a ghost story. This fantastic novel predates science fiction and, for nearly two centuries, has continued to arouse sublime terror—to terrify, therefore, but above all to seduce.
