School Sorrow, in the vein of Like a Novel, addresses the question of school from the perspective of the student, and in this case, the bad student. Daniel Pennac, a former dunce himself, studies this figure of popular folklore, giving it its letters of nobility, while also restoring its weight of anguish and pain.
