• Summary

They are sociologists, historians, anthropologists, linguists, economists... Some are fellow travelers, others have been close to Bourdieu, at one time or another. All bear witness to an experience of working with him in the double sense of the term: working together and theory in action that continues to regenerate scientific approaches and practices. Hence the diversity of contributions but also the singularity of the tone of this work, unclassifiable according to current academic rules: from the account of a fragment of life, passing through the anecdotal trait, to the analysis of theoretical and methodological contributions, all registers intersect, attesting that working with Bourdieu has not calibrated thought or ways of doing things. These different positions and objects reveal new facets and readings of Bourdieu, which concern as much reflexivity, the logic of practice, classifications as the economy of symbolic goods and forms of domination. In many contributions, the emotion of memory also emerges, through modest touches, a sort of reminder of the sensitive conditions of scientific production, often passed over in silence and yet which are part of the daily life of the researcher. If one had to speak of homage, it is an anti-academic homage that the authors of this book wanted to pay to the author of Homo academicus.
