In the ten years between the riots of autumn 2005 and the 2015 attacks on Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan, France saw new fault lines emerge. The youth of postcolonial immigration constituted the main symbolic stake. This contributed to François Hollande's victory in the 2012 elections. But economic, social, and political marginalization, among other factors, pushed some to seek a model of "integral Islam" inspired by Salafism and to project themselves into a "jihadosphere" that sought to destroy the "infidel" West. The generational change in Islam in France and the transformations of the ideology of jihadism under the influence of social networks produced the crucible from which the French, excited by the Syrian-Iraqi battlefield, would emerge. In 2015, more than 800 of them joined it and more than 130 died there, not counting those who carried out their attacks in France.
