Pornography is a difficult art, requiring honesty, brutality, and laughter. Crumb's vigorous drawings therefore insult every taboo, from incest to pedophilia, and cheerfully flout human, and even animal, dignity, regardless of sex, age, or color.
The prudish and the hypocritical will find here, today as yesterday, something to fuel their oh-so-virtuous indignation.
