François Maspero worked in a publishing house before reporting on China, Bosnia, Cuba, the Caribbean, Algeria, and Palestine. He is the author, among others, of Roissy-Express passengers , Balkans-Transit , The Bees & the Wasp He has translated numerous books from English, Spanish, and Italian. In 2011, he received the Roger Caillois Prize for his entire body of work.
