LUCINDA RILEY was born in 1965 in Ireland, and after a career as an actress in theater, film, and television, she wrote her first novel at the age of 24. Her books have since been translated into 37 languages and continue to touch and move people around the world. Her Seven Sisters series became a global phenomenon, creating a literary genre in its own right; it is currently being adapted for a seven-season television series.
Her novels have been nominated for several literary awards around the world. In 2020, she received the Platinum Award in the Netherlands for selling more than 300,000 copies of a single novel in one year.
Together with her son Harry Whittaker, Lucinda also created and wrote a series of children's books called The Guardian Angels.
After raising her four children primarily in Norfolk, England, she fulfilled her dream in 2015 and purchased a remote farmhouse in Ireland, where she wrote her last five novels.
Suffering from cancer since 2017, Lucinda passed away on June 11, 2021, surrounded by her family.
