Spanish critics have compared The Stein Report to The Great Meaulnes and The Disarray of Student Törless. José Carlos Llop was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1956. He received the Best Short Stories Published in Spain award in 1999 and has published six collections of poetry, a Journal, and several novels, two of which were published by our publishers: Parle-moi du troisième homme (Tell Me About the Third Man) in 2005 and Le Messager d'Alger (The Messenger of Algiers) in 2006. Both were enthusiastically received by French critics.
