When we read the tales and myths of primitive peoples, it appears that the thousand games of sex were everywhere celebrated as the most sacred manifestations of the happiness of being. Our West, today, no longer considers them inspired by the devil, but it still does not dare to think that they can, or could one day, please God. For our simple ancestors, it goes without saying that the strength to love has its source in the Master of Creation, and that there is no more joyful duty than to celebrate these tools that were given to us to serve it.
The tales that populate this book are all, of course, from oral tradition. Whatever their country of birth, they speak of the same astonishment at seeing themselves in the sun after the unfathomable shadow, the same wonder at love.
I enjoyed serving these works which have so much to teach us about a happiness to be reinvented.
