Barcelona, ​​1920s. Seventeen-year-old David Martin works at the newspaper. La Voz de la Industria. His life is turned upside down one evening during a crisis at the newspaper: a replacement for the Sunday soap opera writer must be urgently found. On the advice of Pedro Vidal, a part-time columnist, David is chosen. His soap opera is a huge success, and for the first time, David is paid for what he loves most in the world: writing.
At the height of his success, David accepts an offer from two unscrupulous publishers: to produce serials at a frenetic pace under a pseudonym. But after a few years, exhausted, David gives up.
