Moltès, a prisoner, plays the lottery every week. Reggio, a prison guard, validates each of his ballots. One day, Moltès learns he's won the jackpot: fifteen bars!!! But Reggio's wife has gone to Africa with the winning ticket to play the kind-hearted nurse at a rally. Moltès then escapes from prison and heads to Bamako to retrieve the ticket in question. He forces Reggio to accompany him and finds himself pursued in the middle of the desert by The Turk, a formidable gangster who wants his life.
