Summary :
451 degrees Fahrenheit represents the temperature at which a book ignites and burns. In this future society where reading, a source of questioning and reflection, is considered an antisocial act, a special corps of firefighters is tasked with burning all books, whose possession is prohibited for the collective good. Montag, the arsonist firefighter, nevertheless begins to dream of a different world, one that would not banish literature and imagination in favor of instantly consumable happiness. He then becomes a dangerous criminal, mercilessly pursued by a society that disavows its past.
