Here's the return of Chili Palmer, the inimitable producer of Zigzag Movie. Chili's last film was a flop, which is probably why he agrees to have lunch with an "associate" from his early days, Tommy Athens. The latter has made a career in recording with the RAP (Rien à perdre) label and wants Chili to produce a film about his life. Chili isn't against it because he sees the opportunity to include Linda Moon, a singer with whom he is secretly in love. The lunch begins with iced tea, but ends in a bloodbath: Tommy is machine-gunned at point-blank range by a ridiculous killer wearing a toupee. The project is scrapped. Who wants a story where the hero is shot? On the other hand, why not make a film about the recording industry? Especially when gangsters...
